In January 2008, the U.S. Department of Energy made a significant announcement, endorsing Pacific Ethanol's $24.32 million investment to construct the first cellulosic ethanol verification facility in the northwestern United States. This project marks a major step forward in the development of sustainable biofuels and represents a key milestone for renewable energy innovation.
The new facility will be located at Pacific Ethanol’s existing grain-based ethanol plant in Boardman, Oregon. It will use agricultural byproducts such as wheat straw, sawdust, and crop stalks as feedstock to produce ethanol. The medium-sized unit is expected to generate 2.7 million gallons of ethanol annually, serving as a testbed for the technology developed by Danish company BioGasol ApS. This system is designed to process a wide range of biomass mixtures, proving its versatility and scalability.
Scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2009, the project aims to validate the commercial viability of cellulosic ethanol production. If successful, this technology could pave the way for broader adoption across the country. By converting non-food biomass into fuel, the project supports the goal of reducing reliance on imported oil and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
Pacific Ethanol has been at the forefront of advancing technologies that transform various biomass resources into ethanol. With the successful commercialization of cellulosic ethanol, the U.S. could significantly enhance its energy security while making meaningful strides in reducing carbon emissions. This initiative not only supports environmental sustainability but also promotes economic growth through job creation and local resource utilization.
Lined Reactor
RANA Fluoropolymer Lined Reactors and Mixing tanks are all manufactured by advanced lining technology, which are widely used in chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
The PTFE, PFA inner lining of RANA tanks and vessels is flat, smooth and firm. Compared with the traditional steel-lined plastic plate storage tank, steel-lined rubber storage tank and steel-lined glass fiber storage tank,RANA fluoropolymer lined tanks have better corrosion resistance, no leakage, no peeling, wear resistance, resistance to certain pressure, and high temperature resistance, long life etc.
RANA high-quality lined reactors, can better help you to improve the production efficiency, reducing cost losses and increasing profits.
According to the requirements, after RANA strict material selection, production processing control, factory inspection, etc., the general anti-corrosion service life of our tanks can reach 10 years.
Whether you are using for chemical blending, mixing, we have a fluoropolymer lined reactor for you.
The deeply instilled RANA's culture is offering great lined tanks and creating positive memorable experinces.
