The station is fully equipped with a pumper truck, an ambulance, a brush truck, and two trailers. The pumper truck is a 2009 Pierce model, and there will always be five firefighters/paramedics on duty at any given time. During my visit, I had the chance to see the flag-raising ceremony and even witnessed the pumper being backed into its bay. One of the coolest features about this station is the LED light strips installed in the ceiling. They light up in red for 90 seconds every time there’s an emergency call. It’s such a unique touch! While I was there, Engine 42 was present, and I managed to stop by Station 1 to take a picture of the brand-new Ambulance 51. Speaking of Engine 42, while I was at the open house, it actually responded to an EMS call. I learned that they handle around 5,000 calls annually, with about 80% being medical-related. I also took some photos during my visit. One of the highlights was capturing the moment when the flag was raised, which was truly inspiring. Another unforgettable moment was seeing the pumper truck being gently pushed into its quarters. The new station looks fantastic, and it’s clear that the community is proud of this addition.
