Saturday morning brought a devastating fire to a home on South Prairie Avenue in Chicago. Firefighters responded quickly to the scene around 10 a.m., alerted to the emergency at 10728 South Prairie. Despite their swift action, which led to the rescue of a 66-year-old woman, the situation took a tragic turn.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the fire had already taken hold of the basement and was spreading rapidly through the walls of the house. When the flames were finally extinguished, firefighters discovered the body of a young boy in an attic crawlspace several hours later. The boy, believed to be seven years old, was identified as Omariontae Tucker. An autopsy confirmed that he died due to carbon monoxide poisoning and smoke inhalation, with the Cook County medical examiner's office ruling his death accidental.
The initial report had mistakenly stated the grandmother's age as 66, but subsequent updates clarified that she was actually 61. Tragically, Barbara Scott, the grandmother who had been rescued earlier, succumbed to her injuries at a suburban hospital on Sunday afternoon. An autopsy is now pending to determine the exact cause of her death.
Eyewitness Tim Olk captured several powerful images from the scene, providing a grim visual record of the intense firefighting efforts. His photographs show firefighters working tirelessly to contain the blaze, smoke billowing from the house, and the intense heat radiating from the structure. These images serve as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by both first responders and civilians in such emergencies.
The full extent of the tragedy is still unfolding, with ongoing investigations into how the fire started and why the boy was overlooked during the initial search. The community is reeling from the loss of two lives in what should have been a contained emergency. For now, the focus remains on supporting those affected and understanding how such a heartbreaking outcome could occur.

MO series
The "M" in "MO" usually stands for "Mini" or "Modified." This body style is smaller than the OM and is often designed to be more comfortable for players of smaller stature or those who prefer a more compact instrument. It may sacrifice some bass response compared to larger body styles but can be more comfortable to play, especially for extended periods.
