This message comes from Steve Redick. He just sent me some photos from inside an auto detail shop that caught fire at 8821 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Niles. There wasn’t too much visible fire damage, but there were some great shots of the equipment involved. You can see both of Niles’ brand-new pumpers, their newer tower ladder, and Morton Grove’s latest engine.
Attached are a bunch of images he took. The first one shows Des Plaines Fire Department’s Tower Ladder 61. It’s a solid shot, giving you a good look at the rig. Next up is Niles Fire Department’s Tower 2, another impressive piece of equipment. Following that, there’s Niles Fire Department Engine 3, which looks sharp and ready for action. After that, we’ve got North Maine Fire Protection District Engine 1, which has a classic yet modern feel to it. Then there’s Morton Grove Engine 5, a recent addition to their fleet, looking powerful and functional.
One more image captures a nighttime scene at a fire, with multiple engines and trucks on-site, showing how these departments work together during emergencies. Another shot focuses on Niles Fire Department Engine 2, highlighting its design and capabilities. Finally, there’s an aftermath view of the car repair shop fire, showcasing the kind of situations these firefighters deal with regularly.
