The American Axle announced on August 16, 2013 that its president and CEO, David Dauch, had acquired a new position on that day, replacing his father, DickDauch, as Chairman of American Axle.
Dick Dauch, the co-founder of American Axle, died two weeks ago at the age of 71. His son David Dauch has already been elected as the new Chairman of the American Axle , and he will continue to serve as President and CEO.
David Dauch joined American Axle in July 1995 and then promoted within the company. He joined the company's board of directors in 2009 and was appointed president and CEO in 2012.
Prior to his death, DickDauch spent more than 50 years in the automotive industry. In 1994, he founded the American Axle Company with James McLernon and Raymond Park. Until last fall, DickDauch served as the CEO of the American Axle.
