Research shows that dogs are human's best friends
In Budapest, the world’s first research center to compare human and animal brain functions has produced research reports.
The surprising result is that humans and dogs have specialized sound areas in their brains. The discovery was published in the Journal of Contemporary Biology. It also reveals why dogs seem to understand human emotions.
Research added: "Our findings show that they also use similar brain mechanisms to process social information." The researchers pointed out that humans and dogs shared an ancestor 100 million years ago. After training the researchers put 11 dogs lying in the scanner to take the same functional MRI and scan different sounds in human and dog brain scans. The purpose is to pay attention to "how the dog handles the dog's voice and how humans deal with human voices."
MRI images show that in the primary auditory cortex in the same brain region of humans and dogs, the most responsive is the sound of happiness and joy.
