CFD B-Model Mack engine

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share something really cool that I came across recently. This is a 1956 Mack B-Model fire engine I found in Calumet City back in March 2012. It's got the shop number D-307 and the serial number B95F-1042. It's been a part of the Chicago Fire Department (CFD) for quite some time now. Here's a quick rundown of its history with the department: - Delivered on March 16, 1956. - Engine 27 was installed from August 6, 1956, until February 18, 1963. - Then it got Engine 25, which lasted from February 18, 1963, to December 19, 1969. - Next up was Engine 8, which ran from January 1, 1970, to July 27, 1970. - After that, Engine 92 took over from November 25, 1970, to July 12, 1973. - Then came Engine 76, operating from December 31, 1973, to February 5, 1976. - And finally, Engine 56 was put in place on January 26, 1976, and stayed until January 13, 1977. These photos I’ve taken show the current state of this old beauty. It's definitely seen better days but still holds so much history. The images include different angles of the truck, the cab interior, and even some close-ups of specific parts like the dashboard and the double front bumper. I hope you enjoy these pictures! There’s something special about seeing such an iconic piece of firefighting history still around today. Let me know what you think! Take care, Dennis McGuire, Jr.
