Recently, the National Torch Plan Xiangfan Automobile Power and Component Industry Base awarding ceremony was held in Xiangfan Automobile Industry Development Zone. At this point, Xiangfan Automobile Industry Development Zone was formally recognized as the national automotive power and components industry base. Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., Xiangfan Yutai Copper Lead and Lead Strip Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Xiangfan Black Tornado Mould Co., Ltd., and Dongfeng Automotive Engineering Research Institute Xiangfan Automobile Parts Factory were awarded the first batch of five key enterprises. It is understood that the award of this award was made after a series of evaluation procedures at the National Torch Hi-tech Industry Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Automobile Industry Association, and the Hubei Science and Technology Agency. Since the Xiangfan Automobile Industrial Development Zone built the district in 1992, after more than 10 years of development, the automobile power and components industry has formed a scale. At present, the entire region has formed an industry cluster centered on Dongfeng's Xiangfan Base and supported by a wide range of multi-level small and medium-sized automobiles. According to statistics, more than 90% of the automotive-related companies in more than 200 companies in the region accounted for more than 90%. The four major bases for automotive power, vehicle manufacturing, vehicle research and development, and parts and components manufacturing have also taken shape, forming an annual production capacity of 81,000 vehicles and 330,000 engines. The district currently has a national-level automotive research institute, the largest multi-functional automobile pilot plant in Asia, and scientific research equipment with leading domestic level in the development and testing center for light vehicles and cars.
