ABB is providing power and propulsion systems for a new luxury superyacht
ABB recently announced that it will provide power and propulsion systems for a new luxury superyacht. It is reported that the ship is the first of the three series of super yachts that the Ritz-Carlton Hotel has entered for the first time in the cruise market. The ship was built by the HJ Astilleros Barreras shipyard in Spain.
It is reported that this new 190-meter-long yacht is called "Shipship Buster" and can only accommodate 298 passengers. It operates mainly in New England, Caribbean and Mediterranean waters and will provide more customized services than large cruise ships. This natural pioneering project, matched by ABB's solutions, will optimize energy efficiency and enable remote monitoring on shore. ABB's two Azipod® D thrusters make the ship highly efficient, and its remote diagnostics service will make maintenance smarter.
