In the first quarter, the growth rate of shipbuilding completions slowed down, and the decline in hand-held orders was obvious. The industry believes that although the recovery of the shipbuilding industry will remain a long time, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly ships and large-scale offshore equipment fields are expected to be active.

Shipbuilding indicators have fallen across the board
At present, the world shipping industry has fallen into an overall downturn, and the shipbuilding industry has fallen into a trough. In 2012, the three major indicators of global shipbuilding completion, new ship orders, and hand-held ship orders fell across the board, down 13.1%, 32.5%, and 25.6% respectively.

Analysts pointed out that as ship prices continue to fall, ship prices have seriously deviated from value, and shipbuilding companies have almost no profits or even losses. The industry has no choice but to describe the status quo: the order is "waiting for death", and the order is "chronic suicide."
For 2013, the China Society of Marine Engineering believes that the global shipping market may be slightly improved compared to 2012, and the world's new ship bookings are expected to reach 60-75 million DWT. From ship type analysis, liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vessels, automobile carriers, passenger rolling vessels, chemical tankers, and energy-saving, emission reduction, safety, environmentally friendly mainstream ship markets are relatively promising, marine engineering equipment The market will remain active, especially in the floating offshore engineering equipment market.

Energy-saving and environmentally friendly ships are favored
“The current ship market is undergoing structural changes, and energy-saving and environmentally-friendly ships that comply with international new standards and new regulations are more favored by shipowners. LNG ships and large offshore workers are at the same time as new ship prices, especially bulk carrier prices continue to slump. High-end markets such as equipment are still active." Bao Guoqi said.
In implementing the State Council's Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Inland Water Transport in the Yangtze River, the Ministry of Transport proposed to speed up new, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly ship equipment, among which the new LNG hybrid ship type is the most attractive. Bao Guoqi said: "The new LNG hybrid ship type has great advantages in reducing energy consumption, reducing water pollution emissions and air emissions. In the future, it will be a key stage for LNG hybrid ships to replace traditional diesel-powered ships."
In addition, with the promotion of LNG power vessels, the future of the shipbuilding industry and the energy industry may be deeply integrated, and the adjustment of the marine energy structure will affect the future energy industry layout.
