Palos Fire Protection District on the site

Another fire department has been added to the MABAS Division 19 coverage area on the site. The Palos Fire Protection District, which operates two stations in Palos Park, has a total of 41 personnel on its roster, with 12 being part-time. This department serves a district covering 15 square miles, including parts of Palos Park, Palos Heights, Orland Park, and unincorporated areas of Palos Township.

The Palos Fire Protection District is equipped with three E-ONE engines, a 110-foot E-ONE quint, and also utilizes Road Rescue ambulances. In addition, they have a brush rig and an elliptical tanker provided by 4-Guys, ensuring they are well-prepared for a variety of emergency situations.

Station 2 is not only a base for regular firefighting operations but also houses the new Haz Mat unit shared between MABAS Divisions 19 and 22. This unit was previously covered in detail here and here.
