On Thursday morning, February 18, 2016, the Park Ridge Fire Department responded to a residential fire at 105 Elmore Street. The RED Center received an emergency call at 7:43 a.m., reporting a fire with potential for two people trapped inside. As a result, the fire was immediately dispatched as a Code 4, indicating a working fire. Within minutes, a neighbor confirmed that the residents had safely evacuated the home.
Park Ridge Battalion 35 arrived on scene and reported heavy fire in the rear of the structure, with exposures on both sides. Fire crews quickly worked to bring the flames under control, successfully containing the fire before it could spread further. The residents were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but declined medical transport.
Mutual aid from surrounding departments included units from Rosemont, Niles, Des Plaines, Morton Grove, and the North Maine Fire Protection District. The fireground audio is available for listening below, capturing the intensity of the response.
