New ambulance for East Joliet FPD
Here's a message from Firefighter/Paramedic Scott Matthews:
In late May, we welcomed a brand-new Ford F-450/Horton ALS ambulance into our fleet. This vehicle took the place of our older reserve unit, a 2002 Freightliner/Road Rescue ambulance. The new ambulance, now designated as Ambulance 52, officially went into service on July 1, 2016, at Station 52 located at 102 E. Zarley. The previous Ambulance 52, which was a 2007 Ford F-450/Medtec model, has been reassigned to a reserve status and is now known as Ambulance 53.
This upgrade marks an important step in enhancing our emergency response capabilities. The new ambulance comes equipped with the latest medical technology and features designed to improve patient care and operational efficiency. We're excited about the improvements this unit brings to our daily operations and our ability to serve the community more effectively.
