It's also widely used in the coal, non-ferrous metal, and building materials industries for iron removal operations. 2. Working Principle of Ilmenite Ore Permanent Drum Wet Magnetic Separator
When raw materials are fed into the magnetic separator tank, they flow in the same direction as the drum rotation. Iron-containing materials like magnetite are attracted to the drum surface, which is the first separation. In the second step, flushing water below helps reverse the material flow, creating the second separation where the direction is opposite to the drum rotation. As the drum rotates, the magnetic materials on its surface exit the magnetic field and fall into the concentrate box due to gravity. The upper flushing water assists in directing these materials into the concentrate box. Weakly magnetic or non-magnetic materials are not attracted and are discharged as tailings.
