The smooth delivery of the first coal gasifier symbolizes that the scientific research has successfully achieved the transformation from a pilot to a large-scale product.
According to experts, at present, China has become a major user of gasifiers all over the world. The coal gasifiers used are mainly imported from abroad. Not only are they expensive but they also have limited coal types, which cannot fully meet the gasification requirements of coal resources in China. Shanxi is a major coal province in China. The coal produced has a large ash content and a high ash melting point. The poorer coal types cannot be used in imported gasifiers. In response to this demand, China has independently developed a successful ash fusion fluidized bed coal gasification technology. The gasification reactor is a key equipment for the coal gasification technology of ash fusion fluidized bed coal gasification. Its successful research and development will have an important impact on the pulverized coal gasification in China, especially the development and utilization of high sulfur, high ash and high ash melting coal. The impact is of great significance to the complete localization of coal gasification technology in China.
